Genesis 41:1-57 talk about how Joseph become ruler of Egypt after interpreting Pharaoh's dreams, and his brothers come to buy food.
1. After two years, Pharaoh dream one dream. E be say e dey stand by di river.
2. Suddenly, seven fat cows come out of di river, and dem begin graze by di bank.
3. After dem, seven skinny cows come out from di river, and dem stand beside di fat cows. Di skinny cows swallow di fat cows, but nobody sabi say dem don chop di fat cows.
4. Pharaoh wake up, and e no understand wetin e dream.
5. Pharaoh sleep again, and e dream another dream. This time, seven good ears of corn grow up, full, and healthy.
6. But after dem, seven bad ears come up, dry and withered by di east wind. Di bad ears swallow di good ears.
7. Pharaoh wake up, and e realize say na dream.
8. Early in di morning, Pharaoh troubled, so e call all di magicians and wise men of Egypt. He tell dem di dream, but nobody fit explain am to Pharaoh.
9. Then di chief butler remember Joseph. He say: "I remember my fault today.
10. Pharaoh get angry with his servants, and he put us inside di prison, di chief baker and me.
11. We dream, and Joseph interpret di dreams for us. E tell me say I go return to my position, and e tell di chief baker say e go die.
12. E happen just like Joseph talk. Pharaoh, I beg, make you call Joseph."
13. Pharaoh send for Joseph, and dem bring am from di prison. Joseph shave and change cloth, then e go stand before Pharaoh.
14. Pharaoh say to Joseph: "I dream, and nobody fit explain am. I hear say you fit interpret dreams."
15. Joseph reply am: "I no fit interpret di dream, but God go give Pharaoh di answer."
16. Pharaoh tell Joseph di dream: "I dey stand by di river, and seven fat cows come out of di river and begin to eat grass.
17. After dem, seven skinny cows come out, and di skinny cows swallow di fat cows.
18. Then I dream about di corn. Seven good ears grow, full and healthy, but seven bad ears come after, and dem swallow di good ones."
19. Joseph tell Pharaoh say: "Di two dreams mean di same thing.
20. Di seven fat cows and di seven good ears of corn represent seven years of plenty.
21. Di seven skinny cows and di seven bad ears of corn represent seven years of famine.
22. Di famine go follow after di plenty, and it go make di land forget di plenty years.
23. Pharaoh, I advise you, make you find wise person wey go oversee di land during di seven years of plenty.
24. Make e store up grain for di coming famine, so di land no go suffer."
25. Pharaoh, after hearing Joseph talk, say to his officers: "We no go find any person like Joseph? God don show am plenty wisdom."
26. Pharaoh say to Joseph: "Because God don show you all dis, you be di best person for di job.
27. I go make you di ruler of all Egypt, nobody go be higher than you except me."
28. Pharaoh take off his ring and put am on Joseph hand. He dress Joseph in fine linen and put gold chain for his neck.
29. Pharaoh put Joseph in di second chariot, and di people dey bow down for him. Pharaoh say: "I make you ruler over all Egypt."
30. Pharaoh say to Joseph: "I am Pharaoh, but without you, nobody fit move hand or foot in all Egypt."
31. Pharaoh name Joseph Zaphenath-Paneah, and he marry Asenath, di daughter of Potiphera, di priest of On.
32. Joseph travel throughout Egypt, because Pharaoh appoint am to manage di land.
33. Di seven years of plenty pass, and di famine begin.
34. Di famine come all di land, but Joseph store plenty food for Egypt.
35. When di famine reach other countries, people come to Egypt to buy food from Joseph.
36. Jacob, Joseph papa, hear say Egypt get food, so e send all him sons, except Benjamin, to buy food.
37. When Joseph brothers reach Egypt, dem bow down before Joseph, but dem no know say na Joseph dem dey bow to.
38. Joseph recognize dem, but e act like say e no know dem. E ask dem: "Wetin una dey do here?"
39. Dem answer: "We come from Canaan to buy food."
40. Joseph remember his dream wey he dream when he dey small, say his brothers go bow before him.
41. Joseph no talk immediately. He test dem: "Una dey spies! Una come to spy di land."
42. But dem say: "No, my lord, we no be spies, we be one man pikin, we come to buy food."
43. Joseph say: "If una no be spies, why una no bring di youngest brother come?"
44. Di brothers beg Joseph say, "Our papa no fit leave di small pikin, because di boy na di only one left from di mama.
45. But Joseph no agree. E say: "Unless I see di youngest brother, I no go believe say una no be spies."
46. Joseph lock dem up for three days.
47. After di three days, Joseph say to dem: "Make una do dis and live: If una no be spies, then one of una go stay here, and di rest of una go bring di boy come."
48. Dem agree, and Joseph put dem inside custody.
49. After dem stay three days, Joseph say to dem: "I beg, let one of una stay for di prison, while di rest go home. Bring di youngest brother to me, make I see if una go keep di word."
50. Dem agree to Joseph plan.
51. As dem talk, Joseph hear dem talk say: "Dis na di punishment for wetin we do Joseph, because we no listen to am when e dey beg us."
52. Joseph turn away from dem and cry, but when e return, e talk to dem again. E pick Simeon and tie am up in front of dem.
53. Joseph tell dem to fill their sacks with food and put their money back in their sacks.
54. When dem start to travel, one of dem open his sack to give his donkey food, and he see his money.
55. Dem say to each other: "Wetin be dis? Why God go do us like dis?"
56. When dem reach home, dem tell their papa everything wey happen.
57. Jacob sad, because e no want make Benjamin go with them, and e say: "Joseph no dey, Simeon no dey, and now, Benjamin too? All dis things dey happen to me."
