Genesis 11:1-32 talk about di Tower of Babel, how God scatter di people by confusing their language, and Shem’s descendants.
1. All di people for di earth bin dey one language and one speech.
2. As dem travel from east, dem find one plain in di land of Shinar, and dem settle there.
3. Dem talk to one another say, “Make we make bricks and bake am well, make e strong.” So dem use bricks for stone, and tar for mortar.
4. Dem talk say, “Make we build one big city for ourselves, and make we build one tower wey go reach di heavens, so dat we go make name for ourselves and no go scatter for di earth.”
5. But di Lord come down to see di city and di tower wey di children of men don build.
6. Di Lord talk say, “See as di people be one, and dey speak one language, and if dem fit do dis, nothing wey dem wan do go too hard for dem.”
7. “Make we go down and scatter dem language so dat dem no go understand each other talk.”
8. So di Lord scatter dem from there all over di earth, and dem stop to build di city.
9. Dat na why dem call di name of di city Babel, because na there di Lord scatter di language of all di earth. From there, di Lord scatter dem all over di earth.
10. This na di history of Shem. Shem get pikin wey name na Arphaxad, and Arphaxad be 35 years old wen he get Shelah.
11. After Shelah, Shem live 403 years, and get pikin dem, and im die.
12. Arphaxad live after him be 403 years, and get pikin wey name na Shelah.
13. After Shelah, Arphaxad live 403 years, and get pikin dem, and im die.
14. Shelah live 433 years, and get pikin wey name na Eber.
15. After Eber, Shelah live 403 years, and get pikin dem, and im die.
16. Eber live 464 years, and get pikin wey name na Peleg.
17. After Peleg, Eber live 430 years, and get pikin dem, and im die.
18. Peleg live 239 years, and get pikin wey name na Reu.
19. After Reu, Peleg live 239 years, and get pikin dem, and im die.
20. Reu live 239 years, and get pikin wey name na Serug.
21. After Serug, Reu live 239 years, and get pikin dem, and im die.
22. Serug live 230 years, and get pikin wey name na Nahor.
23. After Nahor, Serug live 230 years, and get pikin dem, and im die.
24. Nahor live 148 years, and get pikin wey name na Terah.
25. After Terah, Nahor live 148 years, and get pikin dem, and im die.
26. Terah live 205 years, and get three pikin, Abram, Nahor, and Haran. Haran be di father of Lot.
27. This na di history of Terah. Terah born Abram, Nahor, and Haran. Haran die, for di lifetime of Terah, im pikin. Haran no reach old age.
28. Terah take Abram, im first son, and Lot, di son of Haran, and Sarai, di wife of Abram, and dem go out from Ur of the Chaldeans to go to Canaan.
29. But dem stop at one place wey dem call Haran, and dem stay there.
30. Terah die for Haran at 205 years old.
31. Terah, Abram papa, carry Abram, im first pikin, and Sarai, im wife, and Lot, di pikin of Haran, wey die, go leave Ur wey dey for Chaldeans. Dem go Canaan, but dem stop for one place wey dem call Haran, and dem stay there.
32. Terah live for 205 years before im die for Haran.
