Genesis 26:1-35 talk about how Isaac stay for Gerar during famine. Even though people jealous am, God bless am with wealth, and he prosper greatly.
1. One kind hunger come catch di land, e no be di one we happen during Abraham time. So, Isaac waka go meet Abimelech, di king for Philistia, for Gerar.
2. Di Lord come show Isaac, e tell am, "No go Egypt; stay for di land we I go tell you.
3. Remain here for di land, and I go bless you and your descendants, because I don swear to your papa, Abraham.
4. I go make your descendants plenty like di stars for heaven, and I go give dem all dis lands. Di whole world go get blessing because of your descendants.
5. Na because Abraham obey me, e keep my laws, instructions, and commands."
6. So Isaac stay for Gerar.
7. When di men for di place ask am about e wife Rebekah, Isaac tell dem, "Na my sister," because e fear say dem fit kill am because Rebekah fine well well.
8. One day, Abimelech see Isaac and Rebekah dey play love as husband and wife.
9. Abimelech call Isaac, "Why you talk say na your sister? You wan make we sin against God?"
10. Abimelech warn e people say anybody we touch Isaac or e wife, dem go die.
11. Isaac plant for di land, and God bless am.
12. E harvest plenty, one hundred times wetin e plant.
13. E begin dey get plenty wealth until e become very rich.
14. Di Philistines come dey jealous am because e get flock, servants, and farms.
15. Dem block all di wells we Abraham servants dig.
16. Abimelech tell Isaac make e comot from di land because e don too big pass dem.
17. So Isaac comot go Valley of Gerar, go dey stay there.
18. E begin open di wells we dem block after Abraham die.
19. Isaac servants dig new wells, but di herdsmen for Gerar dey fight dem, say di water na dem own.
20. So Isaac call di well "Esek," because dem dey quarrel.
21. Dem dig another well, di same fight happen, so e call di well "Sitnah."
22. Finally, dem dig one well, and nobody fight dem. Isaac call am "Rehoboth," say God don make space for dem.
23. From there, Isaac go Beersheba.
24. God show am for night, say, "I be di God of your papa Abraham. No fear; I dey with you to bless you."
25. Isaac build altar there, call di name of di Lord.
26. Abimelech come meet Isaac with him adviser Ahuzzath and army commander Phicol.
27. Isaac ask dem, "Why una come, as una drive me comot before?"
28. Dem reply, "We see say God dey with you. Make we do agreement make we no fight each other."
29. Isaac agree, dem chop together.
30. Di next morning, dem swear di oath. Abimelech people waka go back.
31. Isaac servants come tell am say dem dig well and find water.
32. Isaac call di place "Sheba," and di town still dey called Beersheba today.
34. Esau marry two wives from di Hittites, Judith and Basemath.
35. Di marriage make Isaac and Rebekah vex well well.
