Exodus 5:1-23 show how Pharaoh no gree free Israel people, instead e make dia suffer worse with hard work and punishment.
1. After dat, Moses and Aaron go meet Pharaoh. Dem tell am, "Na wetin di Lord, di God of Israel, say be dis: ‘Make my people go so dem go fit do sacrifice for me for wilderness.’"
2. But Pharaoh talk, "Who be dis Lord wey I go obey am? I no sabi am, and I no go free Israel."
3. Dem say, "Di God of Hebrews don meet us. Make we waka go wilderness go do sacrifice for am, if not, e go punish us with plague or sword."
4. Pharaoh tell dem, "Moses and Aaron, why una dey distract di people from dia work? Make una go back go work."
5. Pharaoh still talk, "See as di Israelites don plenty, una wan make dem leave dia work?"
6. Dat same day, Pharaoh tell di taskmasters and supervisors of di Israelites,
7. "No give dem straw again to make brick like before. Make dem go find dia own straw."
8. "But make una still collect di same amount of brick from dem. No reduce am, because dem be lazy people. Na why dem dey say, ‘Make we go do sacrifice for our God.’"
9. "Make di work hard for dem so dem no go get time to dey listen to lie-lie talk."
10. So di taskmasters and supervisors go tell di people, "Pharaoh don talk say, ‘I no go give una straw again.’"
11. "Make una go find straw anywhere una fit see am, but una must still make di same number of brick."
12. So di people waka go everywhere for Egypt dey find straw.
13. Di taskmasters dey push dem say, "Hurry, make una do di same number of brick like before!"
14. Di Egyptian supervisors flog di Israelite foremen wey dem put in charge, dem ask, "Why una no complete di brick wey una suppose make like before?"
15. Di Israelite foremen go meet Pharaoh, dem beg am, "Why you dey treat us like dis?"
16. "Dem no dey give us straw, but dem still dey tell us make we do brick. Dem dey flog us, but na your people dey do bad."
17. Pharaoh tell dem, "Una be lazy! Na why una dey say, ‘Make we go sacrifice to di Lord.’"
18. "Go back to work! Una no go get straw, but una must still make di same number of brick."
19. Di Israelite foremen see say wahala don dey as Pharaoh talk say dem must still make di same number of brick.
20. As dem dey come out from Pharaoh, dem meet Moses and Aaron wey dey wait for dem.
21. Dem tell Moses and Aaron, "May God judge una! Because of una, Pharaoh and him people hate us, and dem wan kill us."
22. Then Moses turn go meet di Lord, e ask, "O Lord, why you allow dis problem to happen to your people? Why you even send me?"
23. "Since di time wey I come meet Pharaoh to talk in your name, e don make di wahala worse, and you never help your people."
