Genesis 29:1-35 talk about how Jacob work 14 years for Laban to marry Rachel. But Laban trick am, and Jacob marry Leah first before Rachel.
1. Jacob continue him journey, come reach one land for di east.
2. E see one well for di field, and three flocks of sheep wey dey rest near di well, because na there dem dey give di animals water. But di well get big stone wey dem dey use cover am.
3. When all di shepherds gather, dem go roll di stone comot, give di sheep water, then put di stone back.
4. Jacob ask di shepherds, "Wetin be una town name?" Dem say, "We come from Haran."
5. E ask dem, "Una sabi Laban, di grandson of Nahor?" Dem say, "Yes, we sabi am."
6. Jacob ask, "E dey well?" Dem say, "Yes, e dey well. See e daughter Rachel dey come with di sheep."
7. Jacob say, "But di sun still dey hot, why una no give di animals water, make dem go graze?"
8. Dem reply, "We no fit until all di shepherds gather, then we go roll di stone comot from di well mouth."
9. As dem dey talk, Rachel show with her papa sheep, because na she dey take care of dem.
10. When Jacob see Rachel, e waka go roll di stone comot from di well mouth and give di sheep water.
11. Then Jacob kiss Rachel, and e begin cry.
12. E tell Rachel say e be Rebekah pikin, her papa relative. Rachel run go tell her papa.
13. When Laban hear say Jacob don come, e run go meet am, hug am, kiss am, and carry am go house. Jacob tell am everything wey don happen.
14. Laban say, "You be my own flesh and blood." So Jacob stay with dem for one month.
Jacob Serve Laban for Rachel
15. One day, Laban tell Jacob, "Even though you be my relative, I no suppose make you work for free. Tell me wetin you want as salary?"
16. Now, Laban get two daughters: di older one na Leah, di younger one na Rachel.
17. Leah eye no too clear, but Rachel fine well well and she get better shape.
18. Jacob love Rachel, so e tell Laban, "I go work for you for seven years to marry Rachel, your younger daughter."
19. Laban say, "E good like dat. I go rather give you my daughter dan give am to another man. Stay with me."
20. So Jacob work for seven years because of Rachel, but because e love am well well, e be like say na just few days.
21. After di seven years, Jacob tell Laban, "Make you give me my wife so I go fit marry am."
22. So Laban gather all di people for di place do party.
23. But for night, instead of Rachel, Laban carry Leah go give Jacob. Jacob sleep with her.
24. Laban still give Leah one maid, Zilpah, to serve her.
25. Early morning, Jacob see say na Leah! E vex, go meet Laban say, "Wetin you do me be dis? I work for Rachel, no be Leah! Why you trick me?"
26. Laban say, "For our place, we no dey marry di younger daughter before di older one.
27. Finish di marriage week with Leah, then I go give you Rachel too, but you go work another seven years for me."
28. So Jacob agree. After di week, Laban give am Rachel as wife.
29. Laban also give Rachel one maid, Bilhah, to serve her.
30. Jacob love Rachel more than Leah, and e work another seven years for Laban.
