Genesis 48:1-22 talk about how Jacob bless Joseph's sons, Ephraim and Manasseh, crossing his hands to give the greater blessing to Ephraim.
1. One day, dem tell Joseph say, "Your papa don sick." So Joseph carry e two pikin, Manasseh and Ephraim, go meet Jacob.
2. Dem tell Jacob say, "Your pikin Joseph don come." Jacob use e last strength take sit down for bed.
3. Jacob tell Joseph, "God Almighty appear to me for Luz, for Canaan land, e bless me.
4. E tell me say, ‘I go make you plenty, and I go give dis land to your children forever.’
5. Now, your two pikin, Ephraim and Manasseh, wey you born for Egypt before I come, dem go be my pikin, just like Reuben and Simeon."
6. "Any pikin wey you born after dem go be your own, but dem go follow Ephraim and Manasseh share inheritance."
7. "As I dey return from Paddan, Rachel die near Bethlehem for Canaan, and I bury am for road to Ephrath."
8. When Jacob see Joseph pikin dem, e ask, "Who be dis ones?"
9. Joseph answer, "Na my pikin dem wey God give me for dis land." Jacob say, "Bring dem come make I bless dem."
10. Jacob eye don weak, e no fit see well. So Joseph carry di pikin dem come near, and Jacob hug dem, kiss dem.
11. Jacob tell Joseph, "I no believe say I go see your face again, but see as God don still show me your pikin dem."
12. Joseph carry e pikin dem from Jacob lap, bow down put face for ground.
13. Joseph put Ephraim for e right hand so e go touch Jacob left hand, and Manasseh for e left hand make Jacob use e right hand bless am.
14. But Jacob cross e hand, put e right hand for Ephraim head and e left hand for Manasseh head, even though Manasseh be firstborn.
15. Jacob bless Joseph say, "Make di God wey my papa Abraham and Isaac serve bless dis pikin dem. Na Him wey guide me since I dey born till now.
16. Di angel wey save me from danger go bless dis pikin dem, make dem bear my name and di name of my papa dem, make dem plenty for di earth."
17. When Joseph see say e papa put e right hand for Ephraim head, e vex. E try change di hand put am for Manasseh head.
18. Joseph tell e papa, "Papa, no be so! Na di firstborn be dis one, put your right hand for e head."
19. But Jacob refuse, e say, "I know my pikin, I know. Manasseh go great, but e younger brother go even great pass am, and e generation go become plenty nations."
20. So Jacob bless dem dat day say, "Israel people go take una name bless people, dem go say, ‘God make you like Ephraim and Manasseh.’" So e put Ephraim before Manasseh.
21. Then Jacob tell Joseph, "I dey die, but God go be with una, e go carry una go back to di land of una papa dem."
22. "I give you one portion pass your brothers, di one wey I take from di Amorites with my sword and bow."
