Genesis 16:1-16 talk about how Sarai give Hagar to Abram to bear a child. Hagar later born Ishmael, causing tension between Sarai and Hagar.
1. Sarai, Abram wife, no fit born pikin. But she get one Egyptian servant wey her name na Hagar.
2. Sarai tell Abram, “Since God never give me pikin, make you sleep with my servant. Maybe through her, I go fit get pikin.” Abram agree to wetin Sarai talk.
3. So after Abram don stay for Canaan for 10 years, Sarai carry her servant Hagar give Abram as wife, and Abram sleep with Hagar.
4. Hagar come get belle, and when she know say she don get belle, she start dey look down on Sarai.
5. Sarai vex tell Abram, “Na your fault o. I give you my servant, but now wey she get belle, she dey look me like say I no reach. Make God judge between me and you!”
6. Abram reply, “Hagar na your servant; do anything wey you like with her.” So Sarai deal with Hagar so tey, Hagar run comot.
7. Di angel of God find Hagar near one well wey dey for di desert, near di road wey lead to Shur.
8. Di angel ask her, “Hagar, servant of Sarai, where you dey go, and where you dey come from?” She reply, “I dey run comot from my madam Sarai.”
9. Di angel tell her, “Go back to your madam and humble yourself under her.”
10. Di angel still talk, “I go bless your descendants; dem go plenty well well, so tey nobody fit count dem.”
11. Di angel of God still tell her, “You don get belle, and you go born pikin. You go call di pikin Ishmael, because God don hear your cry of suffer.
12. Di pikin go be like wild donkey. Him hand go dey against everybody, and everybody hand go dey against am. Him go live separate from all him brothers.”
13. Hagar call di Lord wey talk to her, “You be God wey dey see me.” She talk, “Na true, I don see di One wey dey see me.”
14. So di well wey dey there, dem call am Beer Lahai Roi. E dey between Kadesh and Bered.
15. Hagar born Abram pikin, and Abram call di pikin Ishmael.
16. Abram dey 86 years old when Hagar born Ishmael for am.
