Genesis 22:1-24 talk about how God test Abraham's faith by asking him to sacrifice Isaac. Abraham obeys, and God provide a ram as sacrifice instead.
1. After some time, God test Abraham faith. He call am, “Abraham!” Abraham answer, “I dey here.”
2. God tell am, “Carry your pikin, Isaac, your only pikin wey you love, go land of Moriah. Sacrifice am as burnt offering for di mountain wey I go show you.”
3. Early morning, Abraham saddle him donkey, carry two servants and Isaac, and split firewood for di sacrifice. Then dem start di journey go di place wey God show am.
4. On di third day, Abraham see di place from far.
5. He tell him servants, “Make una stay here with di donkey. Me and di boy go go worship and come back.”
6. Abraham carry di firewood put for Isaac head, while he hold di fire and knife. Both of dem waka together.
7. Isaac ask am, “Papa, di fire and wood dey here, but where di sheep for di burnt offering?”
8. Abraham answer, “My pikin, God go provide di sheep for di burnt offering.” So both of dem continue.
9. When dem reach di place wey God show am, Abraham build altar, arrange di wood, tie Isaac, and put am for di altar on top di wood.
10. Abraham raise him hand to kill him pikin.
11. But angel of di Lord call am from heaven, “Abraham! Abraham!” He answer, “I dey here.”
12. Di angel say, “No touch di boy or harm am. Now I know say you fear God, because you no withhold your only pikin from Me.”
13. Abraham look up and see ram wey him horn hook for bush. He carry di ram and sacrifice am as burnt offering instead of him pikin.
14. Abraham name di place Jehovah-Jireh, meaning “Di Lord go provide.” Even today, dem still dey talk say, “For di mountain of di Lord, e go provide.”
15. Di angel of di Lord call Abraham from heaven again.
16. Di Lord say, “I swear by Myself say because you do this thing and no withhold your only pikin,
17. I go bless you well well and multiply your descendants like di stars for heaven and di sand for di seashore. Dem go capture di gates of dia enemies.
18. Through your descendants, all nations of di earth go bless, because you obey Me.”
19. Abraham return to him servants, and dem go back together to Beersheba, where Abraham live.
20. After this, dem tell Abraham say, “Milcah, Nahor wife, don born pikin.
21. Her firstborn na Uz, di secondborn na Buz, and dia brother Kemuel (di father of Aram).
22. She also born Kesed, Hazo, Pildash, Jidlaph, and Bethuel.
23. Bethuel na di papa of Rebekah. Milcah born this eight sons for Nahor, Abraham brother.
24. Nahor concubine, Reumah, born Tebah, Gaham, Tahash, and Maacah.”
