Genesis 21:1-34 talk about how God bless Abraham and Sarah with Isaac. God also protect Ishmael and Hagar in the desert.
1. God remember Sarah as He promise, and He do for her wetin He talk.
2. Sarah born pikin for Abraham for him old age, at di exact time wey God talk.
3. Abraham name di pikin Isaac, as God instruct am.
4. When Isaac turn eight days old, Abraham circumcise am, just as God command am.
5. Abraham dey 100 years old when Isaac born.
6. Sarah talk say, “God don make me laugh, and everybody wey hear my story go laugh with me.”
7. She continue, “Who for believe say Abraham wife go born pikin? Yet, I don born pikin for am even for him old age.”
8. Di pikin grow, and dem wean am. Abraham throw big party for di day wey dem wean Isaac.
9. But Sarah see Ishmael, di pikin wey Hagar, di Egyptian maid, born for Abraham, dey laugh at Isaac.
10. So Sarah tell Abraham, “Chase this maid and her pikin comot, because her pikin no go share inheritance with my pikin Isaac.”
11. This matter pain Abraham well well because Ishmael na him son too.
12. But God tell Abraham, “No vex because of di boy or di maid. Do wetin Sarah talk, because na through Isaac your lineage go continue.
13. But I go bless di maid pikin too and make am a big nation, because na your pikin.”
14. Early morning, Abraham give Hagar bread and water, and send her and her son away. Dem waka enter di desert of Beersheba.
15. When di water finish, Hagar put di boy under one bush.
16. She go sit far from am because she no fit watch di boy die. She begin cry.
17. God hear di boy voice, and di angel of God call Hagar from heaven, “Wetin dey worry you? No fear. God don hear di boy cry.
18. Stand up, lift di boy, and hold am well, because I go make am a great nation.”
19. Then God open Hagar eye, and she see well wey get water. She go fill di bottle and give di boy drink.
20. God dey with di boy as he grow. He live for desert and become a hunter.
21. He live for di desert of Paran, and Hagar find wife for am from Egypt.
22. One day, Abimelech and Phicol, di commander of him army, come meet Abraham and say, “God dey with you for everything wey you dey do.
23. Swear to me say you no go lie to me, my children, or my descendants. Make we do agreement say you go treat me and my land well, as I don treat you.”
24. Abraham agree and say, “I go swear.”
25. But Abraham complain to Abimelech about one well wey Abimelech people seize.
26. Abimelech answer, “I no know who do am. You no tell me before now, and I just dey hear am today.”
27. Abraham give Abimelech sheep and cattle, and dem make agreement.
28. Abraham set seven female lambs aside.
29. Abimelech ask am, “Wetin this seven lambs mean wey you set aside?”
30. Abraham reply, “Take this lambs as sign say na me dig this well.”
31. That place dem call Beersheba, because na there dem swear oath.
32. After dem make di agreement, Abimelech and Phicol go back to di land of Philistines.
33. Abraham plant tamarisk tree for Beersheba and call di name of di Lord, di Eternal God, for di place.
34. Abraham live for di land of Philistines for long time.
