Genesis 38:1-30 talk about how Judah marry Tamar, and after her husband die, she disguises herself and gets pregnant by Judah, causing a scandal.
1. At di same time, Judah leave di rest of him brothers, go live for one place wey dem call Adullam.
2. There he meet one Canaanite woman wey name na Shua. Judah marry am, and dem born pikin for am.
3. Di first born pikin wey Judah born, him name na Er.
4. Er marry one woman wey name na Tamar.
5. But Er do bad things wey God no like, so God kill am.
6. Judah say to him second pikin, Onan, "Go marry Tamar, your brother wife, and make sure say you go give her pikin, so dat your brother go get pikin."
7. But Onan no want pikin for him brother, so anytime e go sleep with Tamar, e no let di seed go. He do am like dis because he no want make di pikin be his brother own.
8. God see wetin Onan do, and He kill am too.
9. Judah vex, and say: "I no want give my third son, Shelah, to Tamar, because maybe he go die too, like him brothers."
10. So Tamar wait for Shelah to grow up, but Judah no give am to him as husband.
11. After long time, Judah wife die, and when he finish mourning, him go with his friend Hirah, from Adullam, to Timnah, go shear sheep.
12. Tamar hear say Judah dey go Timnah, so she take off her widow clothes, wear veil, and disguise herself, sit by di roadside to Timnah.
13. Judah see am, but him no recognize her, because she wear veil.
14. Judah stop, and say: "Make I go sleep with you." He no know say na him daughter-in-law.
15. Tamar ask am: "What you go give me if I agree?"
16. Judah say: "I go give you one kid goat from my flock."
17. Tamar ask: "You go give me something to show say you go give me di goat?"
18. Judah say: "What you want make I give you?" Tamar say: "Give me your seal and your cord, and di staff wey you carry." Judah agree and give am.
19. After dem do di thing, Tamar collect di things and go. She remove di veil, put back her widow clothes.
20. Judah send di kid goat by his friend Hirah to collect di things, but Hirah no fit find di woman.
21. Hirah ask people for di place, but dem say: "No woman dey here like dat."
22. Hirah go back to Judah and tell am, say: "I no fit find di woman, and di people wey dey there say no woman dey there."
23. Judah say: "Make her keep di things, no make we come shame, say I no fit give am di kid goat."
24. About three months later, Judah hear say: "Tamar don play prostitute and now she dey pregnant." Judah say: "Bring her out, make we burn her."
25. As Tamar dey brought out, she send message to Judah, say: "Di man wey get dis things dey di father of my pikin." She show di seal, cord, and staff.
26. Judah see di things and say: "She don right pass me, because I no give her my son Shelah, as I promise." So Judah stop from sleeping with her.
27. When time come for Tamar to born, she get two pikin.
28. When she born, one of di pikin stretch hand out, and midwife tie red thread for di hand, to say "dis one be first."
29. But di hand go back in, and di other pikin come out first.
30. Di midwife say: "How you break out first? You don tear yourself!" So di pikin name be Perez.
